You can expect to pay anywhere between £50 and £300 for return flights to Salzburg from the UK depending on what sort of quality flight you want and what time of year you go. There are some 'budget' airlines that now fly direct to Salzburg and often have very cheap flights listed. Many traditional airlines also fly to Salzburg but these will quite often involve a change at a European 'hub' airport adding expense and time onto your journey. A direct flight takes around 2 hours. Whilst we don't include the flight in the price of the holiday we are happy to find flights suitable for the itinerary and dates for you. We have experience at finding great deals on flights and as such, we hope to find you the best deal possible.
Included in the price of the Austrian Alps holiday is a return transfer from Salzburg Airport. If you a large group we can arrange the transfer from either Munich or Innsbruck airport if you prefare. Please contact us before booking if this is the case.
There is also a cheaper option available which does not include this transfer - please see details below.
Option 1 - Including return transfer from Salzburg
Each Austrian Alps holiday runs Sunday - Sunday and we request that you arrive at Salzburg airport for the transfer ‘pick-up’ time of 4pm local time (BST+1). This will allow for a Sunday afternoon transfer and an early evening arrival in Mayrhofen.
Direct flights to Salzburg are available from Stanstead (Ryan Air), Coventry (Thomson) and Manchester (Sky Europe). Flights which we feel are appropriate for this holiday are listed below:
Sky Europe from Manchester arriving at 16:00
Ryan Air from Stanstead arriving at 21:20
Both of these flights would require a stopover in Salzburg which are generally available from around £40 a room. Salzburg is a historic European city, with some fantastic architecture and cultural attractions. There is certainly plenty to do for one evening!
Ryan Air from Stanstead arriving at 09:30
Thomson from Coventry arriving at 15.20
Please note, these are only suggested flights to arrive into Salzburg as close to 16:00 on Sunday afternoon as possible. First Choice offer a direct service from Gatwick but only on a Wednesday and many airlines offer indirect flights.
Option 2 - No transfers included
If you would rather make your own way to Mayrhofen and do not wish to use our Salzburg transfer, Ride the World will give you a £100 discount off the list price of the holiday (£399)*. Other airports close to Mayrhofen include Munich and Innsbruck. Rail travel in Europe is often very efficient and a great way to see more of Europe on your way. It would also be possible to drive to Mayrhofen if you enjoy driving! It is approx. 750 miles from Calais!
Whilst we are happy to lend advice on alternative travel arrangements to and from Mayrhofen, we regret we cannot book or arrange these details or any additional accommodation outside of Mayrhofen.
*Any promotional offers and discounts will be deducted from the £100 transfer discount.
